14 day trip - starting and ending in Kota Kinabalu. Also includes 2 days jungle training in the UK in preparation for this unique challenge to Trek to the 3 highest peaks in Sabah.

Preparation: 2 days (weekend) jungle survival and expedition skills, preparation and training. A few months before the start of the trip, you can join our Fieldskills Tropical Forest Safety Courses where you will have an opportunity to learn invaluable skills such as living in your hammock, jungle survival skills, navigation and lost procedures. This course is included free as part of you expedition - then it is off to the 3 highest peaks in Sabah, North Borneo to test out what you have learnt.

The Challenge: Everyone knows the traditional UK Three Peaks Challenge but how about a three peaks challenge in the Malaysian state of Sabah, on the island of Borneo.

All three peaks have been climbed before - Mount Kinabalu, the highest is well trodden and many travellers climb it each year. However Trusmadi and Tamboyukon are very rarely visited - and whilst, considerably lower they offer in many ways a far greater challenge in terms of remote expedition experiences. To top things off - as far as we can tell no one has tried to do all three - in one expedition.

Our first peak, Gunung Tamboyukon, is the most rarely climbed. This is the third highest peak in Sabah. This will take us 4 days of jungle trekking, camping in remote spots to get up and down.

Then we will continue to Trusmadi - a beautiful and again fairly rarely visited jungle peak which offers beautiful views across to the final peak - Mount Kinabalu.

We then finish on Mount Kinabalu - taking the less touristy and dramatic Mesilau route to the summit.

As with all our trips we will put everything into place with qualified mountain leaders with many years climbing experience in Borneo, the State's top mountain guides, well though-out food and supplements and all the right equipment for adverse weather or emergency response. Still only time will tell exactly what will happen!
