Our most comprehensive course ever - get new skills and qualifications, combined with a mini-expedition across our homeland in the beautiful Lake District.
You will learn and get to practice practical navigation skills, camp craft for a range of environments including mountains and jungle, bushcraft skills, risk management and first aid.
By the end of the week you will come out with a two day Outdoor First Aid certificate certified by ITC, an expedition planning and leadership certificate, through IOL, as well as lots of practical skills, a few laughs and some new friends.
The course combines a relaxed and enjoyable week, with packing in a wide range of new skills. So we'll combine formal classroom sessions on first aid, with practical assessments, informal teaching in the field with nights out in the field, practical journeys and real life challenges, with a pint and camp fire cup of tea.
What will we cover:
- First aid:
Vital Signs, Accident Procedure - ABCDE, Unresponsive Casualties, Safe Airway Positions, CPR and bleeding, Limbs, heads and necks and lots of scenarios and practical exercises
- Expedition planning:
What is an expedition? Soft skills and group management, planning and risk management. Evacuations and communications
- Fieldskills:
Wild camping, camp craft, fire lighting, tents and machetes, hammocks and navigation and lots more

- Fieldworkers at Universities and research bodies wanting to practice skills and gain qualifications

- Anyone just looking for a unique 'staycation' learning new skills and experiencing yurts, hammocks and more!
The course fee covers all training, accommodation and food through the week (though some of this will be in basic, campsites, yurts and even hammocks!)
