| Borneo Office Fieldskills Adventures Team |
Simon Amos Simon has been working in remote locations as an explorer, expedition
leader and medic for over fifteen years, he has been consultant
to World Challenge Expeditions UK for South American travel
and has designed and run over twenty jungle training courses
for different organisations including Trekforce Expeditions
UK.
With a ten year history as a nurse in London and Nottingham
hospitals, Simon holds two nursing qualifications and has gained
extensive expedition medic experience ranging from the Himalaya
to the Andes and the European Alps.
He worked for six years as Operations Manager for Trekforce
Expeditions in South-East Asia and has huge experience in this
area where he now lives with his wife Christine.
He likes the night before and hates the morning after.

Christine AmosChristine holds an honours degree from Moray House Institute of Education, Edinburgh and originally worked as an Outdoor Instructor in the UK before becoming an expedition leader.
Having led jungle expeditions in Central America and Borneo, Christine is well-versed with the rigours of life in the humid forests of Sabah and Sarawak.
She has also spent four years setting up and managing jungle expeditions and specialising in logistics and training.
Christine has travelled extensively in the Americas and Australia between gaining qualifications in canoeing, climbing and caving.
Christine now juggles expedition planning, Louise, Ewan and more spreadsheets than she ever thought possible.

Joe Wan Joe finished tertiary education 1983. He then juggled playing music nightly with a day job in the hospitality industry (sales & marketing with a hotel in Miri). Having then done sales and marketing for some international brand names for the next 6 years, in 1993 he started his own business. In 1997 he sold out his share in the firm to work in Brunei, first 2 years for an Engineering firm and then the following 8 years with an Education services provider. In Jan 2007 Joe joined Fieldskills where he took on a wide ranging administration role. His main responsibility is for detailed planning of Borneo trips, pricing itineraries, project sourcing and making bookings. However its not unknown for him to be roped into cleaning bikes, driving trucks and even using his musical talents to entertain guests.

Edward Sinpa Ed started as a building contractor but was soon enticed to join Outward Bound Sabah, first as an instructor where he gained skills as a climber, sailor and team-building instructor then became Logistics manager and oversaw the many and varied activities of the centre.
After five years with Outward Bound Ed set up one of the first outdoor shops in Sabah and then was invited to manage the Kota Kinabalu Adventure Centre, where he and Simon met.
Ed is Sabah's most prolific outdoor activity builder and has worked for a diverse range of people from the first ever Survivor TV series to Adventure races and local university climbing walls.

Alex AdamAlex is a Dusun, the oldest of 10 siblings! He
started work 1997 as a Tour Coordinator both selling and guiding tours. In 1999 he became a Trainee Guide, and was licenced in 2002. He has led tours all over Malaysia including West Malaysia as well as working as a resort representative. In 2007 he was Operations Assistant at a resort near Kinabalu Park handling wildlife expeditions/tours. From 2008 onwards he became a freelance leader and now does much of his work with Fieldskills leading many of our holiday tours. Relaxed and some have even said cute Alex is also very knowledgeable and an excellent tour leader. |

Naz Domianus Naz is a Dusun born in 1976. He has worked across the adventure and travel industry in Sabah working as raft, canoe and kayak guide, an event facilitator for team-building courses and a tour guide. He now mainly works with us particularly on rigging jobs as well as getting stuck in with mountain biking and jungle events. He has built up a wealth of experience assisting with rigging jobs with TV companies and scientists as well as rigging rock climbs and developing climbing walls. Naz is a ball of energy and never ever looks as serious as his does in this photo.

Henry Sapinggi Henry is a Dusun from Kampung Kiau, a village right at the foot of Mt Kinabalu. This probably explains why he comes from a whole family of mountain guides, including his dad, who was among the first few local guides qualified to lead tourists climbing Mt Kinabalu back in the 50s. Born 1979, married, expecting their first baby as we speak. Henry started in the tourism industry in 2000 and is one of our most experienced tour leaders. A loveable character with a great rapport with groups and massive knowledge on the mountain and in the forest.

Lee Teck Seng Lee Teck Seng is a Sino Kadazan born in 1977 and is based in Sandakan on the eastern coast of Sabah.
Lee is a hugely experienced tour leader who works mainly with our adventure holiday groups as well as being a great photographer. He started working in the tourism industry in 1995 as a tour guide, Five years later he then tried his hand at diving (trainee Dive Master). From 2001 to 2005 he was the lodge manager at one of the lodges along the Kinabatangan river. 2005 – 2007 worked as the operations manager at Wildlife Expedition, a local tour company specialising in wildlife spotting. From 2007 he has been a freelancer and has led many of our tours in Borneo.
A great character - cool, efficient and very organised.

Ronney H Badak Ronney
is a Kadazan Murut, native of Sabah. He was born in Penampang KK where he still lives. eldest among 5 siblings, still single.
He worked in various jobs including supplying kitchen hardware, tent/camp equipment supplies and rental and assisting in indoor stadiums (futsal pitches in particular) maintenance. He found his way to Fieldskills and now works with us maintaining our fleet of mountain bikes and also helping with logistics on our larger events.
